Presentation

The Country Club at Castle Pines was founded by Jack Vickers in the 1980s. Jack Nicklaus served as the architect, creating a course over 6900 meters in length.
The layout is stunning, with evergreens lining the holes and shining emerald fairways amid the mountain surroundings. A tournament was held by the club yearly for its first two decades that used the punitive Stableford system for scoring, which is intended to goad golfers into more aggressive play.
That competition wound up being edged up by the well-funded FedEx Cup. The club is located between Colorado Springs and Denver (but a thousand feet higher in elevation), and hosts one of the top championships on the US Tour.
It is an exclusive, members-only club that hosts the US Open and the PGA Championship. The course is located in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains, and is over 7559 yards in length, though it naturally plays shorter owing to the high elevation.
The 18-Hole Course opened in 1981.
