The South Course is known for having hosted the Buick Invitational, a PGA Tour event, annually since it debuted in the Fifties. The 2008 US Open was played at Torrey Pines South, and won by none other than Tiger Woods.
It is the most accessible public facility for the die-hard enthusiast wishing to play at a world-renown facility that nearly all golfers know by name. Indeed, some may even find themselves preferring this course to Pebble Beach; it certainly does offer some fine views of the Pacific.
