Overview

18-Hole CourseOpened in 1908. Design: Dr.
Alister MacKenzie, Dick Wilson & Michael Clayton. Since 1930 the course has hosted numerous Australian Opens.
Gene Sarazen declared a special attachment to the 14th hole after winning in 1936. The first six holes alone establish the place of the Metro among the great Sandbelt courses.
The Metro and its neighbors just have what it takes to keep the world’s top golfers coming to play. The club’s bunkers, which are still mowed by hand, defend greens of which the club is rightfully especially proud.
The course is located in the Sandbelt region of Melbourne and is one of the best places to play golf in the country. It is a short drive from the Melbourne CBD and the Melbourne Airport.
It has a driving range, putting green and a putting green for women and men, and an 18-hole golf course for men and women. The 18- hole course has a playing surface of 2,500 square feet.
