Overview

18-Hole New South Wales Golf Club CourseOpened in 1942Length: 6189 m, Par: 72Practice FacilitiesPractice AreaThis club at La Perouse is the best that Sydney has to offer in the way of links-style golf. Alister MacKenzie, as part of his Australian tour in the 1920s, situated the course on a sandy strip of peninsula south of town overlooking Botany Bay.
The ocean is almost always in view, and the rocky ground determines the placement of the holes, as is particularly evident in the case of the 5th, 6th and 7th. The Australian PGA Championship was played here, though the remoteness and relatively small size of the site have kept it from being a regular venue for the Australian Open.
Nevertheless, visitors to Sydney who can only fit in one round of golf are advised to go to the New South. Wales.
The course was opened in 1942 and is one of the oldest golf courses in Australia.
