Overview

18-Hole Course at Fishers Island in Long Island Sound opened in 1928. Seth Raynor created the layout, which features amazing vistas of the sea from every hole.
Among the unforgettable holes are the 2nd, a Redan with a pool in front of the green; the 229-yard 5th, a Biarritz; the 11th, where the green seems to float on the Sound; and the 380-yard 7th with its fine marriage of scenery and strategy. Incessant gusts and extended carries make this a real test of golf.
The club is so exclusive that many players in the region are unaware of its existence. It has attracted the elite of New York City, and of New London CT a short ferry ride away, since its opening in 1928, and is one of the most exclusive courses in the country.
The clubhouse facilities are fairly limited—refreshments can only be had at a neighboring establishment—but the course itself lacks for nothing.
