Overview
18-Hole Course opened in 1998. Tom Fazio designed the course at Victoria National in the late Nineties.
Site was once a coal mine, as the metal roof on the multi-story clubhouse suggests. The 6592-meter layout may not feature huge forced carries or fancy greens, but there are plenty of challenges to be had.
The 3rd, a 578-yard odyssey between water and the rough to a thin, tricky green that slants forward and is defended by a triple bunker. Another tough customer is the 6th, a 474-yard par 4 that plays to an enormous stepped green.
Walking the course affords the opportunity to appreciate the outstanding maintenance. The course was designed to allow players to give all their skills a workout, rather than one that would reward showy moves.
Terry Friedman when he established the club was looking for a course that would allowing players togive all their Skills a workout. The site was once the site of the Victoria National Coal Mine, but it is now a tranquil expanse of fields.
