Overview

18-Hole CourseOpened in 1929. Designed by the finest architect working in the US in this period, Donald Ross.
Grounds are right on the ocean and are dominated by a sprawling clubhouse done up in the style of a hacienda. Many great players have come through over the years; the membership has boasted a number from Walker Cup teams.
Bobby Sweeney, after losing to Arnold Palmer in the. US Amateurs in 1954, used to spend the cold months here and do battle with Ben Hogan.
in their own private tournament, where the prize was $100 and bragging rights. The course is one of the four most exclusive and esteemed private clubs in all of the US, they would have to be Augusta, Pine Valley, Cypress Point and Seminole.
The latter is in Palm Beach, the snowbirds’ paradise, and the course here was built by Donald Ross in the 1930s. It has been largely undisturbed since then, with only a few changes to the course.
