Overview

The original design for Cherry Hills Country Club was done by William Flynn. Tom Doak was engaged to carry out refurbishing in 2009.
At 6787 meters, the par 72 course has attracted plenty of championships. It has been the location for the US Open (three times), the US Senior Open, the US Amateur (twice) and the US Women’s Open.
Among the holes here, the opener is famous for a stunning birdie made by Arnold Palmer in 1960, when he made up a seven round deficit to clinch his only US Open title. The PGA Championship has also been held at Cherry Hills (two) and at Winged Foot (one), as well as the US Mid-Amateur and US Amateur Championship.
The course is located in Englewood, a suburb of Denver, Colorado, and is on the outskirts of the Denver suburb of Centennial, Colorado. It is currently home to the US PGA Tour, which has been played at the club three times.
