Overview

The Riviera Country Club’s internationally renowned golf course was established in 1926. Noted for its spectacular beauty and uniquely challenging design, the George C.
Thomas masterpiece is perennially rated among the very finest in the world. Riviera became known for its celebrity clientele and as a venue for the LA Open, in which Ben Hogan emerged victorious repeatedly in the 1940s.
Attempts have been made to restore the Riviera to its place as a site for the Open, first in 1993 by Ben Crenshaw, and then by Tom Fazio in 2007. The club is slated to host the US Amateur in 2017.
The sprawling, Spanish colonial-style clubhouse surveys the course and offers fine amenities. The course is consistently maintained to the standard set by club founder Frank Garbutt, who declared, “Only the best is good enough.
” While maintaining a strict adherence to tradition, Riviera attracts and caters to the most discerning national and international guests. Its elegance and charm make the club an ideal place for sporting and social engagements.
