Overview

Royal St. George’s is one of England’s finest links courses.
The club has hosted amateur and professional tournaments since the 1880s. In 1894, the Open Championship was first played outside Scotland.
The course is located in Sandwich in Kent, 7 km from Deal. It has played host to The Open Championship fourteen times.
The fairways go up and down, the greens are firm and fast, often undulating. It is a links where the wind is constantly imposed, with little water in play, without trees, deep bunkers and blind shots.
The challenge here is truly monumental; it is as if the course itself fights back against the player, while at the same time creating opportunities for golfing glory. The Open is probably the only links course that Londoners can enjoy fully without an overnight trip.
The Club is ranked first in England, certainly for its incomparable beauty and technicality. James Bond creator Ian Fleming introduced him in his novel Goldfinger as “Royal St Mark”.
