The Quarry Course takes its name from how the site was once purposed, as a place where rock and sand were excavated. The fact that a course was built on a site like this speaks to how hard good land is to come by in the area around La Quinta, California.
The finishing trio of holes is the most challenging stretch, with water hazards on the 17th and 18th. The routing begins with relatively straightforward holes and toughens up on the back nine.
Thus the 521-yard 10th features bunkering on one side and that stream on the other.
