Quail Hollow Club

18-Hole Course opened in 1961. George Cobb created the initial layout in 1961, and Tom Fazio was brought in to carry out renovations in 1977.

The front nine and the first holes on the back nine are fun, but things get rough beginning with the 14th. The trio of closing holes, known as the Green Mile, have produced the highest median scores of any similar stretch on the PGA Tour.

The 18th especially is unsurpassed for difficulty, with the median score of the last three holes being more than 70 points higher than the average for the same stretch of golf. The course is a real test from the tips, and no cakewalk from the forward tees.

Among the challenges are water hazards and bunkers around the very quick greens. The club is very exclusive, and features outstanding amenities, such as a driving range and practice facilities.

It is one of the most exclusive golf courses in the United States, with only a handful of other courses offering the same facilities.
