Overview
18-Hole Del Monte Golf Course is the oldest course in continuous operation west of the Mississippi. Designed by golf and polo enthusiast Charles Maud, this inland course boasts a meandering layout that has challenged golfers for more than a century.
It was the original host of the California State Amateur and continues to serve as one of three courses on which the Callaway Golf Pebble Beach Invitational is played. The course was also chosen to welcome the 1916 amateur western, the first time that one of the biggest national amateur events of the time was played west of Colorado.
The back nine includes a treacherous par-5, 512-yard 13th hole. The 18-hole course was originally designed as a nine holes course in 1897 by Charles E.
Maud and agoni at 18 holes in 1902, the DEL Monte quickly attracted the best players. The DEL Monte championship was so famous that many considered the champion to be the best Golfer in the State.
The golf course is located in Pebble Beach, California.
