Since 1919, the exquisite beauty and the unique challenge of Pebble Beach Golf Links ™ have excited golfers and spectators. The route marries the rugged coast, offering very open views, fairways on a cliff side and sloping greens.
Standout holes include the 7th, which plays longer than it seems when the breezes blow in and force a decision between using a 3 iron or a wedge. The only major alteration has been to the 5th, formerly situated next to a cottage that the club was for long unable to purchase.
Jack Nicklaus, Tom Watson and Tiger Woods have all had stunning victories here; this is where Woods came out on top in 2000 by a full fifteen shots. From the perspective of the USGA, Pebble Beach is to the US Open what St.
