Overview

18-Hole Course at Aronimink Golf Club, located just west of Philadelphia, was designed by Donald Ross. The layout was conceived with tournament play in mind, and the course has attracted such events over the years as the PGA Championship (in 1962), the US Amateur Championship ( 1977) and the AT&T National (2010-2011) New tees were added on three of the holes in preparation for this latter competition, and all of the bunkering was refurbished.
The enormous castle of a clubhouse is suited to the grandeur of the course. The par 5 16th with its angled fairway, dense rough and fierce bunkers, the 215-yard, over-water 17th with Its concave green and the 436-year, doglegged 18th.
The green on the 11th, which almost defies a two-putt, is one of the most difficult to putt on. The 17th is the longest hole on the course, at 436 yards.
